It’s the 12th day of the 12th month and the The Dozenal Society of America, is happy. The society believes life would be a lot better if we had been born with six digits on each hand and foot, like pandas, instead of our five. Technically a Panda is a five digit animal, but with the round pad on the left , it has a a thumb … kinda …so it’s almost six fingered.
But fingers and toes apart, the real argument why our lives would be simpler if we counted in twelves is its Superior Divisibility. You can divide 10 by only 2 or 5, but 12 can be divided by 2, 3, 4 and 6. The world of twelves, the Dozenal Society wants us to believe, is a world rich with choice, variety, and whole integers. And consequently, counting in tens is for dullards who like the look of 3.333333333.
