How many days did it take to build the Colosseum?

One day … by recreating the famous Roman landmark using millions of pictures from photosharing websites. A team of researchers from the University of North Carolina and the Swiss university ETH-Zurich used a home PC equipped with four powerful graphic cards. Their efforts created this 3D model of the Colosseum:

The real Colosseum took 8-10 years to build between the years 70-80 AD. It is an elliptical amphitheatre built in the centre of Rome and is a shining example of ancient Roman architecture. This is how the structure looks today:
